Let's Get Started

1988 was a great year for me. I graduated from Georgia Tech and started my first (and what turned out to be my only) corporate job. I built and moved into my first house.

But best of all, in the fall of that year...I pledged my love to Lori Freeman and she honored me by pledging her love to me and we started sharing our lives together. Every second, every minute, every hour of every day since that time.

Just a few years before that I had fallen in love with her at first sight.

Now many years later, after raising two wonderful children. Moving in and out of a few houses. Starting and shutting down a few businesses. Scraping by on less than pennies and having financial abundance. Traveling to all corners of the world. Survived some health issues. And living through many other struggles that we will just skip for now.... I can truly say that we are more in love and more committed to each other now than the day we both said "I do."

So why am I writing about this now? In a blog on the internet?

For many reasons.

First, it is Valentines Day and I am always looking for unique ways to show my love and affection for my wife. Why not tell the world?

Second, Glori (a few years ago the Lord changed her name...very cool) and I have a heart for couples that have made a commitment to each other. And we grieve every time we hear about friends or someone we know that is struggling in their relationship. So we were recently in our sitting room discussing it and a voice clearly said "do something about it and tell people what you have learned."

So Glori set up this blog and we are both going to write and share words of encouragement, the good and the bad that we have learned over the years and whatever God tells us to share.

One item I must clarify before we launch. We are not doing this because we think we have the "perfect" marriage. But we have been blessed and most importantly I work everyday to be the man/husband/spouse/father that God wants me to be.
